Brazil/Paraguay

Majority of the corn originating here in Brazil is lowland and only some is actually highland. The exact age of corn cultivation here is not known, as like in Colombia it is not well represented by archaeological evidence. Generally speaking, eastern Brazil has a common white flint with a white or yellow floury maize in southern Brazil and Paraguay. Those of indigenous labeling have been cultivated by only the Indian tribes here, which much of my collection from Brazil originated from. Dents, often used in modern breeding, are also grown and popular here.

The Guarani are a major group of Indians which occupy Paraguay, parts of Brazil and Bolivia, and Argentina. Most of their corns, flour wise, are yellow with only a few lacking that yellow, this being usually for religious ceremonial corns.
