Day-Length Sensitive
These beans are light sensitive, meaning they need either greenhouse growing, a very long season, or to be grown when the days are shorter. Many of these are very striking and just simply stunning! Most originate in South America, but a few are from other nations such as Kenya. Some are used as regular dry beans while others have special purposes and are often considered sacred. More info on the special use nuna beans and some limas in the descriptions below. I am working with these to acclimate them to the U.S. climate so stay tuned the next few years to see how they are doing.
