A usually tall dent landrace that is also late but has very nice grain in both look and quality. Large ears usually fill completely and this landrace is extensively grown and is by far the most important race along the Gulf coast. The name comes from the town of Tuxpan, Veracruz with "eno" meaning coming from. A large portion of the corn hybrids grown in the U.S. and world have this landrace in its breeding background. The productivity, large ears, and insect/disease resistance make it excellent to use in breeding.
