A form of the race Bolita, this rare corn translates into "blood of Christ." It is considered a magical and very sacred corn from the area it comes from, where it is threatened from being lost and is not grown very widely.  The corn is usually planted in small quantities in a field as part of old superstitions and as a good luck charm in the crop season and harvesting.
