Short plants that are usually early with hand grenade shaped ears and somewhat large, floury kernels that vary from solid yellow to a cream with pink and red mixed in. The landrace is found in the Mantaro Valley between Jauja and Huncayo. It's center of distribution is in the district of San Geronimo, near the city of Huancayo.
