While considered short, the plants I have grown of this landrace usually get tall. Medium maturity with usually spread out kernels on the ears. The landrace has limited distribution to the central-south Andean regions with the largest concentration to the Department of Apurimac and then to Ayacucho and Huancavelica. Chullpi is considered a sister race and it is believed that Paro was selected as a floury counterpart of Chullpi which it has the similar ear shape and characteristics. It is also similar to Confite Puntiagudo, which could be parents along with Chullpi.
