Considered a late maturing landrace, this tall corn has slender ears of dark coloreed kernels and is most common in Chimaltenango. The deep blue ears have a floury type and resembles closely Guirua from Colombia. It's likely an ancient introduction from South America thus for. Collections of the landrace also come from the Departments of El Quiche, Solola and Guatemala at elevations of 6000-7425 feet.
