Another of the 5 subraces of Nal-Tel in Guatemala. This landrace hails from the Departments of Jutiapa, Chiquimula and Baja Verapaz at altitudes of 3250-3500 feet. It is very similar to Amarillo Tierra Baja in plant characteristics and only differs in having white kernels instead of yellow. This landrace is more commonly grown in other parts of Central America. Plants average 9 feet tall but can be shorter with 3-4 inch long ears of white kernels.
