A gorgeous and smooth yellow flour corn from the Mandan Indians of North Dakota. 3.5 foot stalks provide small, reasonable sized 8-rowed (usually between 5-7 inches) ears 3 to 12 inches of the ground of soft, solid and bright golden yellow kernels. Excellent for flour, I have used it to make corn muffins and they taste delicious. Early as all Mandan Corn is, around 90 days or even earlier. One of the corns mentioned by Maximillian in 1833. Prince Alexander Philipp Maximilian was a German explorer and naturalist who traveled to the Great Plains in 1832 and 1833, where he recorded the cultures of the native American tribes he encountered, especially the Mandans and Hidatsa.
